Specialising in providing an unparalleled range of logistical solutions and delivering over 250,000 parts to garages and repair centres throughout Europe, Alliance Automotive Logistics guarantee that garages and fast-fit centres can repair and maintain their customers vehicles as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday 2200 - 0630
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for inbound and outbound operations within the NDC.
- Manage and develop your warehouse management team to ensure effective management of people and the daily operation to achieve deadlines, service levels and quality standards.
- Able to react quickly and effectively to any operational changes. Able to make decisions confidently and direct resources to the appropriate areas.
- Monitor and manage the quality of stock and improve the ‘first time pick’ accuracy.
- Deliver cost savings within the operation against your budgeted numbers.
- Challenge the status quo on KPIs to improve performance via continuous improvement.
- Daily resource planning to meet customer order demand, including holiday and absence cover through temporary resource and overtime planning.
- Ensure that procedures and processes are followed, standards are maintained and there is a continual improvement culture within your teams.
- Ensure stock accuracy is kept to a high standard by being put away correctly and that goods in management systems are routinely checked and challenged as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, acting on queries and responding with corrective actions.
- Responsible for target setting and performance management through regular team reviews.
- Identify and plan team development needs and contribute to succession planning.
- Ensure the disciplinary / grievance process and company procedures are followed.
- Ensure return-to-work interview process is followed in line with absence management process.
- Participate in recruitment activities and through your direct reports ensure we carry out probation reviews for new employees.
- Monitor staff rota to ensure adequate cover in all departments to minimise absence conflict and assist with weekend/night cover when required.
- Maintain effective two-way communication with your direct reports and wider team, including running weekly meetings.
- Participates in projects, courses, and other development activities.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, encouraging and developing a positive approach to safety at all levels.
- Maintain a safe physical environment for self, staff and visitors, including completion of health and safety checks and that defects are reported and rectified.
- All accidents are investigated, root cause established, and a positive approach taken on future prevention and improvement.
- Ensure team contribute to a safe working environment and housekeeping is maintained daily.
- Complete weekly operational and safety audits, record issues / hazards and resolve.
Skills & Experience:
- +3 years of people management experience including headcount of +80 colleagues.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- IOSH / NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous
- PC literate including Microsoft word, excel, power point and outlook, and WMS experience
- Previous experience of fast paced environments with unpredictable volumes, coupled with the ability to use judgement through evaluation and analysis.
